Free Website of the Month — Official Rules
These Official Rules govern the “Free Website of the Month” promotion (the “Promotion”) offered by Beardman Design LLC. This Promotion is a skill- and merit-based contest, not a lottery, sweepstakes, or game of chance. Winners are selected on the basis of merit at the Sponsor’s sole discretion — not by random drawing. By submitting an application, you agree to be bound by these Rules.
1. Sponsor
The Promotion is sponsored by Beardman Design LLC, 18114 Cinnamon St, Omaha, NE 68135 (“Beardman Design,” “Sponsor,” “we,” “us”). The Promotion is not sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with, Google, Meta, or any other third party.
2. No purchase necessary
No purchase or payment of any kind is necessary to enter or win. A purchase will not improve your chances of winning.
3. Eligibility
The Promotion is open to legally operating businesses located in the United States whose authorized representative submitting the application is at least 18 years old. Employees of Beardman Design and their immediate families are not eligible. One application per business per monthly entry period. The Promotion is void where prohibited or restricted by law.
4. How to enter
To enter, complete and submit the application form at beardmandesign.com/free-website/, including all required fields, during an open entry period. Applications that are incomplete, illegible, fraudulent, or that contain false information may be disqualified. All information you submit must be truthful and accurate.
5. Entry periods
The Promotion runs in monthly entry periods. Each entry period begins on the first day of a calendar month and ends at 11:59 p.m. Central Time on the last day of that month, unless otherwise stated. Applications received after an entry period closes will be considered for the following period. Sponsor may open, pause, or close entry periods at its discretion.
6. Winner selection & notification
One (1) winner will be selected per entry period. Winners are chosen by Beardman Design in its sole and absolute discretion, based on merit — including, without limitation, the applicant’s business, the story and need described in the application, the potential impact of a new website, and the fit for the prize. This is a judged contest, not a random drawing; the Sponsor’s decisions are final and binding in all matters and are not subject to appeal. The winner will be notified by email at the address provided on the application. If a selected winner cannot be reached, does not respond within seven (7) days of notification, declines the prize, or fails to meet these Rules, the Sponsor may select an alternate winner or make no award for that period.
7. The prize
The prize is the design and development of one (1) standard marketing website (“the Sub-Second Rebuild”), built by Beardman Design and delivered to the winner. Approximate retail value (ARV): $12,500 USD. The prize includes custom design and front-end development of a standard business website of a reasonable page count as determined by Sponsor, plus initial hosting and maintenance for a period specified to the winner in writing.
The prize does not include, without limitation: e-commerce stores or custom web applications; paid advertising or ad spend; professional copywriting, photography, or videography beyond what Sponsor elects to provide; ongoing content creation; domain registration or third-party subscription costs; or work outside the scope Sponsor defines for the build. The final scope, features, timeline, technology, and creative direction of the website are determined by Beardman Design in its sole discretion. The prize is non-transferable, cannot be sold or exchanged, and has no cash equivalent; no substitution is permitted except by Sponsor.
8. Ownership, hosting & the winner’s responsibilities
Upon completion and handover, the winner owns the delivered website. Beardman Design retains the perpetual, irrevocable right to feature, reproduce, and describe the project and the finished website in its portfolio, case studies, and marketing (see Section 9). Beardman Design will provide hosting and maintenance as specified to the winner; continued hosting or maintenance after any stated initial period may be offered on Beardman Design’s standard terms. The winner agrees to cooperate in good faith — providing content, feedback, approvals, and access needed to complete the build in a timely manner. Beardman Design may withdraw or modify the prize if the winner is unresponsive, uncooperative, or if the engagement is not a good-faith fit.
9. Publicity & marketing rights
By entering, and except where prohibited by law, each applicant grants Beardman Design the right to contact them regarding their application and Beardman Design’s services. By accepting the prize, the winner grants Beardman Design the right to use the winner’s business name, logo, likeness, project details, the application’s story, and the finished website in advertising, promotion, portfolio, and marketing in any medium, without additional compensation or approval.
10. Your information & privacy
Information you submit is collected and used by Beardman Design to administer the Promotion, evaluate applications, and contact you about your application and Beardman Design’s services, in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By applying, you consent to this use and to receiving related communications. You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time via the link in those emails.
11. General conditions
Beardman Design reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to modify, suspend, extend, or cancel the Promotion, or to disqualify any applicant, at any time, including if fraud, technical failure, or any other factor impairs the integrity of the Promotion. Applicants agree to release and hold harmless Beardman Design from any claims, losses, or damages arising out of participation in the Promotion or acceptance or use of the prize. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Beardman Design’s total liability in connection with the Promotion will not exceed the ARV of the prize. Any taxes on the prize are the sole responsibility of the winner. If any provision of these Rules is held invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
12. Governing law
These Rules and the Promotion are governed by the laws of the State of Nebraska, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Douglas County, Nebraska.
