Case Study · Website Rebuild

A 15-second site,
rebuilt to load in two.

Luna Babies Foundation is a Nebraska 501(c)(3) that supports families grieving the loss of an infant — with a caring community, direct financial assistance, and a Remembrance Garden. Families reach for that help at the hardest moment of their lives, most often on a phone — and the old site made them wait more than fifteen seconds to see it, then shifted under their thumb as it loaded. We rebuilt it.

The problem

Grieving families, kept waiting fifteen seconds.

For a nonprofit, the website is the front door — to help and to donations. The old build was slow, taking over fifteen seconds to show its main content on a phone, and unstable, shifting as it loaded. Families in crisis and would-be donors don’t wait around for that.

Our approach

Faithful to the mission. Fast enough to meet the moment.

Honor the identity families already trust, rebuild it to be genuinely fast and stable, and make it effortless to give — or to find help.

01

Faithful to the mission

We kept the calm, hopeful identity families already knew — the butterfly, the soft palette, the gentle tone — and elevated it. Custom-built, with none of the bloat that was dragging the old site down, so it feels like Luna Babies, only lighter and more assured.

02

Fast enough to meet the moment

Families reach for this help at the hardest moment of their lives, usually on a phone. We took the mobile load of the main content from 15.3 seconds to 2.4, and eliminated the layout shift entirely — so the site is ready the instant someone arrives, instead of jumping under their thumb.

03

Built for giving and for finding help

A clear donation path with a live fundraising goal, plus support-group sign-ups, events, family assistance, and the Remembrance Garden — all easy to find and easy to use, whether someone came to give or came for care.

04

Accessible and AI-ready

Designed to be usable for everyone and readable by AI search — the site now passes Google’s Agentic Browsing check 2/2 (it failed 0/2 before), so families searching for support actually find them.
